Selvage — drafts the fix in your voice, applies it with undo
Selvage finds the gaps in your Shopify catalog that AI shopping surfaces read, drafts the missing presentation copy in your store's own voice, and applies each change you approve with a snapshot of what it replaced, so you can roll it back while the field still holds Selvage's wording. The score comes second: it shows which surface each gap is about.
Coming to the Shopify App Store
Selvage installs from its Shopify App Store listing and opens from Apps in your Shopify admin. There is nothing to type here.
How it works
- Scan your catalog. Selvage reads your products and what your storefront publishes about them.
- Score each surface. Every check is scored for the surface it affects — Catalog syndication or open-web citations.
- Draft in your voice. For each presentation gap, Selvage drafts copy written the way your store already writes. A gap that needs a fact, such as a barcode, is flagged for your input instead.
- You approve. You see the suggested wording beside what is there now, and approve, edit or dismiss it.
- Apply with a snapshot. Approved changes are written in the background, after Selvage records what each field held.
- Undo. An applied change can be rolled back from that product's page in Selvage, as long as the field still holds Selvage's wording.
The ground rules
- A score that says which surface it is about. Every check names what it affects — Catalog syndication, which reads your Shopify product data, or open-web citations, which read your product page — and what a gap costs you there. Each score records the rubric version that produced it. Selvage does not guarantee rankings or sales.
- Presentation copy only, never your facts. Selvage drafts titles, descriptions, product type, tags and image alt text, sending that product's own copy to a third-party AI model to do it. It never writes barcodes or GTINs, materials, dimensions, certifications, price or inventory — where a check needs one of those, Selvage flags the product for your input instead of inventing an answer.
- Preview, snapshot, roll back. You see the proposed wording beside the current wording before anything is applied. Selvage records what each field held immediately before it writes, and a rollback restores that recorded value — unless you have edited the field yourself since, in which case your newer wording is left in place. It asks for product read and write access only — no customer and no order data.
